Another way to increase your savings is through a new app called Checkout 51. Checkout 51 is an app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod (with camera). It allows you to get rebates on specific weekly featured products. It doesn't require much effort to use. You download the free app (it is only available through iTunes for now), then you shop as normal at any grocery store. You take a picture of your receipt and upload it via the app. Once your total reaches $20 you can request a cheque. The weekly specials and each rebate can be found on their site: http://www.checkout51.com/.The best part is that you can use manufacturer coupons or store specials in combination with this rebate! Unfortunately, the rebates are limited to one of each item per person per device. So if you want to get a rebate for more than one of each item, you would need to set up accounts for each member of your family, and each member would need their own iPhone, iPad, and iPod. Each person would also require a facebook account to sign up.
I have used this app for a couple of weeks with no problems. I haven't reached the $20 level needed to request a cheque, but I'll let you know how that goes once I get there!
